Xiphias 24" 120mm Carbon Fat Bike Rim: Development Progress & Pre-Order

Our Decision: 120mm Single-Wall Carbon Rim
Based on all the opinions, we eventually decided to develop a 120mm wide single-wall carbon rim, a new member of the Xiphias family. It is currently under technical tests and weighs around 600g. Designed for the Surly Moonlander 2.0
As we mentioned in our previous post, this Xiphias 24" 120mm rim is mainly to support Surly's newly released fatbike, the Moonlander 2.0. Installing the Xiphias wheels not only reduces the weight of the whole bicycle, but also improves the overall riding experience. This new rim will be a perfect match for the Surly Molenda 24 x 6.2" tire. With such a Moonlander 2.0 and equipped with Xiphias 120mm tires, you can pump the tires to ultra-low tire pressure and experience new terrain you have never ridden before. Think rocky dunes, creeping shorelines, frozen beaches, sinuous stretches of snow and the like.
A Look Back: Snow Dragon 24" 80mm
Literally, the Xiphias 24" 120mm rim is not our first 24" carbon fatbike rim. In fact, as early as 8 years ago, we developed a 24" double wall carbon fiber wheel: the Snow Dragon 24" 80mm. www.nextie-oem.com/fatbike-snow-dragon-80mm-NXT24SD80 However, at that time, the advantages of 24-inch fat bike had not been fully explored, and 26" fatbikes had basically dominated the fat bike world. So the 24" fatbike wheels were forgotten in the corner.
Why 24" Fat Bikes Are Making a Comeback
But today, we have discovered the huge advantages of smaller size fatbike wheels. They can be installed with ultra-wide tires to broaden the riding experience under ultra-low tire pressure. We believe 24" fatbikes will take you to places that other fatbikes have never dared to go. It's all new.
